Personal Ovulation Check

Chart directly on your Fertllity Calendar
Whilst your fertility calendar covers the exoected times of ovulation according to your cycle, ovulation does sometimes move around evn to the last day of bleeding! A good way to chart your actual ovulation times directly onto your fertility calendar is to check your own personal changes.

Sperm remains fertile for 60 hours and the ovulation day is a full 24 hours, so your ovulation window is 3 days but as the ovulation varies from month to month an exact timing according to your body changes is useful. If there is a 6 to 10 days move around then you will spot it from your comments made directly on your calendar.

Personal Signs of Ovulation
As your cycle progresses, your cervical mucus increases in volume and texture. The greater volume and changes in texture reflect your body's rising levels of estrogen. You are considered most fertile when the mucus becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy. Many women compare mucus at this stage to raw egg whites.

The role of mucus is to nourish, protect, and speed the sperm on its way up through the uterus and into the fallopian tubes for the rendezvous with your egg. Your temperature can increase by 0.5 to 1.6 degrees just after you have ovulated.

You won't necessarily feel it, but you can detect it by using a basal body temperature (BBT) thermometer. This temperature spike indicates that you've ovulated (releasing an egg stimulates the production of the hormone progesterone which raises body temperature).
